Data Deletion & Privacy Requests
This policy applies to all Shopify applications published by AzentLabs (each an “App” and together the “Apps”). It explains how merchants and customers can request access to or deletion of information held by AzentLabs in connection with those Apps. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What Happens When You Uninstall an App
Uninstalling an App removes its authorized access to your Shopify store. App-held information is then handled through the applicable deletion and retention process. Uninstallation is not a promise that all copies of information are erased immediately.
Information already saved in Shopify, such as order attributes or metafields, may remain part of the merchant's store records. Theme customizations and records created in connected services may also require separate management. Follow the relevant App's removal guidance or contact support for assistance.
2. Shopify Privacy Requests
Shopify provides privacy request topics for Apps distributed through its App Store:
customers/data_request: a request for information held about an identified customer.customers/redact: a request to delete applicable information about an identified customer.shop/redact: a request to delete applicable store information following uninstallation.
Valid requests are handled according to their topic, the data held by the relevant App, and applicable Shopify requirements. A data access request is distinct from a deletion request. Shopify's delivery schedule for a request does not mean that every data copy is deleted at that moment.
3. Requesting Access, Correction, or Deletion
Email support@azentlabs.com with:
- The name of the AzentLabs Shopify App involved.
- The Shopify store domain, preferably its
.myshopify.comdomain. - The type of request and enough information to identify the relevant records.
- A contact email associated with the store or authorized requester.
Do not send passwords, authorization tokens, payment card details, or unnecessary customer information. We may ask for additional information to verify identity and authority before disclosing or deleting information. Deleting data needed by an active App can affect its functionality.
If you are a customer of a merchant using an App, contact the merchant first so the relevant store and records can be identified. You may also contact AzentLabs about data we hold; we may coordinate with the merchant to verify and complete the request.
4. Optional Integrations
You can disconnect an integration using the available App controls or revoke its permissions in the third-party service's account settings. For Google integrations, access can also be managed through your Google Account's third-party connections settings.
Request deletion of App-held integration information by identifying the App, store, and connected service in your message. Disconnecting does not necessarily delete data already sent to the connected service, such as Google Calendar events. Manage those records in that service or ask us for guidance.
5. Timing and Retention
We review and complete verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable law and Shopify's requirements. The process depends on the request, the relevant App, identity verification, and any lawful retention obligations.
Limited information may be retained where necessary for legal or accounting obligations, security, fraud prevention, or the establishment or defense of legal claims. Such information is restricted to those purposes. Backup copies may remain until their scheduled expiration or replacement and are not used to continue providing the uninstalled service.
We explain any relevant retention exception or limitation when responding to a request. This process concerns information held by AzentLabs; Shopify and other services retain responsibility for information they hold under their own policies.
6. Request Outcome and Contact
For a manual request, we will confirm the outcome or explain what information or further action is needed. For questions, contact support@azentlabs.com and include the App name and store domain.
